19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at 21 different events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to secure a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
He defended 4 early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
